Telegram Launches Exciting 2025 Update: New Collectibles, QR Scanner, and Enhanced Features

Telegram has unveiled a variety of new features with its first update of 2025, as announced recently. This latest upgrade introduces exciting functionalities that enhance user experience. Now, users can transform received gifts into collectibles, each with distinct attributes and the capability to be exchanged with others. The update also includes a QR code scanner within the app, reactions to service messages, customized emojis for folder names, additional search filters, and other innovative features.

This update was planned as the 17th significant enhancement of 2024 but missed its launch window due to delays attributed to delays within the review process.

New Features on Telegram

Telegram has provided a breakdown of its new features via a recent blog communication. Users can now elevate gifts received on the platform into collectibles, which may be traded or sold on NFT marketplaces. By upgrading a gift to a collectible, users can unlock a unique design featuring personalized traits created by Telegram's artists. Each collectible also showcases secondary elements, like background color, icon, and quantity, ensuring a level of exclusivity and rarity among collectibles.

Additionally, with the new update, service messages—such as notifications for new group members or gift sending—now support emoji reactions. The enhanced search features enable users to locate messages from specific chats more effectively, thanks to extra filters designed for both private and group conversations.

To improve accountability, official third-party services can now designate additional verification symbols to user accounts. A small emblem will appear next to the name of any user who receives third-party validation. It is crucial to highlight that these verification symbols are distinct from the verified badges Telegram offers to celebrities and institutions.

Moreover, the in-app camera for both Android and iOS now includes a built-in QR code scanner. This new capability allows users to effortlessly access links through their preferred browser without needing to switch applications. Premium users will also enjoy the ability to customize folders with distinctive emojis, adding a more personal touch to their organization.
