Microsoft Unveils Revamped Copilot With AI Image Editing Capability
09 Feb 2024
In its endeavor to enhance user experiences and understanding, Microsoft has updated its AI assistant platform, Copilot, with a design upgrade and new capabilities. The artificial intelligence tool, which was introduced a year ago, now displays a more integrated design. Now, users can view the transformed interface on both the Copilot website and its Android and iOS apps.
Microsoft announced the renovation through a blog post, mentioning that the remodeled interface is more interactive, presenting a Copilot logo at the top and a visual carousel below. The carousel displays image samples generated by the AI feature. It is accompanied by text prompts surrounding these images. An input field for users' inquiries is placed at the bottom.
Additionally, an exciting feature has been added to Copilot, termed as the Designer. This enables users to make in-line modifications to AI-generated images. This feature enables users to customize images without having to leave the chat interface. They may highlight certain aspects, modify colors, blur the background, and even transform the image into a different art style. Available even in the free version, all these functions aim to provide a visually stimulating user experience.
Exclusive to Copilot Pro subscribers is an enriched functionality that permits resizing and regenerating images between square and landscape formats without departing the chat interface. Microsoft also revealed its plan to integrate its new Designer GPT inside Copilot soon, intended to offer a dedicated canvas inside Copilot for visualising ideas.
The tech giant will also be making a notable reappearance during this year's NFL championship game, the Super Bowl, after a gap of four years. It announced forthcoming ads focusing on instances with Copilot where the tool's capabilities will be showcased. This broader focus signifies Microsoft’s commitment to enabling users to bring their ideas to life more easily.
