LinkedIn Rolls Out AI-Powered Job Coach for Premium Members

LinkedIn, the world’s leading professional networking platform, is expanding its AI landscape with a novel feature tailored for its premium subscribers. The Microsoft-owned company is introducing an AI-driven job coach designed to aid members in their career pursuits. This development follows the announcement that LinkedIn now boasts an impressive user base of 1 Billion individuals, fueling its dedication to AI-centric tools further.

Over recent years, LinkedIn has actively incorporated the use of AI in various aspects of its platform, primarily focusing on supporting its paid membership base. Most notably, the networking site had incorporated a generative AI feature earlier this year, significantly improving how users craft their profile descriptions and messages when contacting potential employers.

LinkedIn's latest AI offerings, however, aim to deliver even more personal and tailored user experiences. The standout feature for job searchers is the AI-driven insights that appear alongside every job advertisement. With the ability to summarize extensive job descriptions and evaluate whether a position aligns with user profiles, the tool provides meaningful and targeted advice on how to proceed with job applications, highlighting key employment experiences that users could stress in their submissions. Tips on how to enhance LinkedIn profiles to appear more compelling to recruiters are also provided.

LinkedIn's Product Manager, Rohan Rajiv, elucidates that these highly personalized recommendations are made possible not merely by generative AI but also by the expansive data the platform has amassed over the years. According to him, LinkedIn's extensive datasets, encompassing user-profiles and their connections, can significantly bolster job hunts.

Presently, the innovative feature is in its developmental stage, available only to a select group of LinkedIn Premium subscribers as a beta service. However, the indication from the company is clear: artificial intelligence will be a predominant feature in their services. Tomer Cohen, LinkedIn’s Chief Product Officer, shares that the introduction of this AI-based job coach tool signifies the start of an era where the transformative power of AI will play a pivotal role in making informed career decisions.
